The Popular Show Season Four Reveals the Soldiers Table

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in strength within the city.

Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of characters who will split off from the central cast to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem out of place, but the developments of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.

The antagonist then settled his debts and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires retribution.
  • Kattigan has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could assist the party reach areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by the clan.

This means them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of Casimir.

What’s Next?

From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight players to round up the Questers and Strategists tables.

Audiences can expect learning which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
